The Plantation Manager responsibilities is overseeing the cultivation and management of plantation of cassava crops, planning, organizing, and managing all activities related to cassava cultivation within the companys plantation. This includes overseeing planting, maintenance, harvesting, and ensuring optimal yields while adhering to quality and safety standards. Responsibilities: Crop Planning and Management: Develop annual crop plans and schedules for cassava cultivation, taking into account factors such as land availability, soil conditions, and climate. Implement best practices for planting, fertilization, irrigation, and pest and disease control to maximize yield and quality. Field Operations: Supervise planting activities, ensuring proper spacing, depth, and planting techniques are followed. Monitor crop health and growth throughout the growing season, implementing appropriate measures to address any issues that may arise. Harvesting and Post-Harvest Handling: Coordinate harvest schedules and ensure timely harvesting of mature cassava roots. Oversee post-harvest handling, including cleaning, sorting, and transportation to processing facilities. Equipment and Infrastructure Management: Maintain and oversee the use of farm equipment, ensuring proper operation and maintenance. Manage plantation infrastructure, including roads, irrigation systems, and storage facilities. Budgeting and Cost Management: Develop and manage annual budgets for plantation Implement Implement cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements where possible Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to crop cultivation, environmental protection, and worker safety. Promote and maintain a safe working environment for all plantation/farm staff Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and provide leadership to plantation staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the plantation team. Requirements Bachelors degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or related field. Foreigners working in large scale Cassava Farms within Asia are preferred for this role. Previous experience in plantation management, preferably in cassava or other root crop production. Strong knowledge of agronomic practices, soil science, and crop management techniques. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in budgeting, cost management, and record-keeping.
